Los Viejos Blanquitos formed in the Fall of 2000 is based in Athens, Ohio.  This six piece band performs a style of music that combines the richness of jazz harmony, melody and

improvisation with the infectious rhythms indigenous to Latin and Afro-Cuban music.  The sound of the band is achieved by combining saxophone, flugelhorn and a seldom used instrument, the marimba with a traditional latin rhythm section comprised of piano, bass and percussion.
